Payment: We ask that you pay a deposit when you make your booking, and rest of payment locally to the rental station.
Payment
The following forms of payment are generally accepted in Cyprus :
Visa, MasterCard, Dinners, AMEX
ACCEPTED: Visa, MasterCard, Dinners, AMEX
NOT ACCEPTED: Pre-paid credit cards, Laser, Maestro, debit cards
A valid credit card in the name of the main driver must be presented as guarantee for the rental. Our local car rental partner may reserve an amount of 600-2.000 Euro plus tax(depending on your selected car group) as guarantee, which will be released after the end of the rental period if no damage/theft has occurred.
In the event that you fail to present a valid credit card or lack of sufficient funds available on the credit card, car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle. In these instances, no funds paid will be reimbursed.
Driver and Licence Requirements.
Minimum age 21, Maximum age 75.
Drivers bewteem 21-25 years old must have held a valid driving license for at least 3 years.
Drivers beyond age limits between 21-24 years and over 75 years old will be charged €4.00 (VAT included) per day - paid locally
Drivers must also show their passport or national ID card on collection as additional proof of identity.
All driving licences which have been issued within the European Community will be accepted.
International driving licences (IDP) will be accepted.
All National driving licences in Roman Alphabet and in a credit card format that are subject to the list of contracting parties to the convention on road traffic in Vienna, will be accepted
All other National driving licences must be accompanied by a valid International Drivers Permit in Roman Alphabet
Car types
Reservations are always confirmed for a given Car Group -not for a specific car model- The car on your voucher represents the vehicle for the class (Group) you have booked. We cannot guarantee a specific make or model. Any specific cars mentioned are simply typical examples of the size, specifications and performance applying to that car group.
State/Border Restrictions
CROSS BORDER POLICY: Not available for Cyprus
Insurance companies DO NOT offer any cover while you drive to the North part of Cyprus, NOT under the control of the Cyprus Republic. Autounion is also unable to offer any support there both in case of breakdown or accident.
Driving to the North part of Cyprus is done entirely on your own risk.
Autounion has the right to claim from the hirer any amount to cover the whole of the damage caused in the Northern part of Cyprus.
One-way Rentals
One-way Rentals are allowed between specific cities and vise versa.

Bookings include all local taxes.
Additional Drivers:
First additional driver is free of charge. From the second additional driver onwards an additional charge applies of 3,00€ per day per driver. Minimum age restrictions apply.
Fuel Policy: Same to Same
The vehicle is usually given to the client with a full tank of petrol free of charge. Fuel is paid by client and must return the vehicle with the same amount as he collected or the difference will be charged locally.
Out of Hours Charge
At Paphos Airport we provide services 24/7 free of charge.
Out of hours services in Larnaca Airport, Larnaca Hotels, Ayia Napa Office, Ayia Napa Hotels, Protaras Hotels, Limassol Hotels and Pissouri Hotels between 23:00-08:00 are available with an extra charge of 20,00€
Out of hours services fro Paphos Hotels and Peyia and Coral Bay Hotels between 20:00-08:00 are available with an extra charge of 20,00€ euro per service.

Insurance
The customer understands that all insurance cover is provided by the company supplying the vehicle for rental and not Autounion car rental. Liability for claims in excess of the insurance cover purchased rests with the hirer of the vehicle. Autounion car rental does not provide insurance cover of any kind in relation to the hire of the vehicle and is not liable for damages incurred in the event of an accident.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with excess amount
Is included in the booking cost and reduces the financial liability up to a maximum of : For car categories A,A1,A2,B,B1,BA,BB,C,CA,D,D1 €600, for F,H,H1,J,J1, E1,M,MD,K,KA €800 for M1,M1D,M1A €1100, for J2A €1200 for L €1500 and for N,NA,ND,J1A,J3A,P,PD €2000
CDW does not provide any coverage concerning damages provoked at the underside part of the vehicle, inside part of the vehicle-saloon, wind shields, mirrors and tires. Basic condition is that the damage is not due to infringement of RoadCirculation Code. The Accident Statement should always be supplemented so that the insurances’ covers will be in effect. In case of car accident and damages police report is mandatory. Without police report the client takes full responsibility.
In case of accident, the client must contact the police and report the incident immediately, and submit a copy of the police report, the rental agreement to the rental location. CDW protection does not apply beyond the rental date agreed with the pickup location. For details of this insurance, please check with the supplier on collection of the Vehicle
Additional Insurances
FULL DAMAGE WAIVER (FDW): For car categories A,A1,A2,B,B1,BA,BB,C,CA,D,D1,F,H,J €10 per day (VAT included), for car categories E1,M,MD €15 per day (VAT included) and for car categories H1,K,KA,M1D,M1,M1A,L,N,NA,ND,J1,J1A,J2A,J3A,P,PD €20 per day (VAT included)
FDW does not provide any coverage concerning damages provoked at the underside part of the vehicle, inside part of the vehicle-saloon, wind shields, mirrors and tires. Basic condition is that the damage is not due infringement of Road Code Circulation. The Accident Statement should always be supplemented so that the insurances’ covers will be in effect. Police report is mandatory.
WHEELS,UNDERSIDE,GLASS(W.U.G) : Covers any coverage concerning damages provoked at the underside part of the vehicle, inside part of the vehicle-saloon, wind shields, mirrors and tires. Basic condition is that the damage is not due to infringement of Road Code Circulation. Addtional charge for W.U.G is €5 (VAT included) per day for all car categories except for car categories H1,L,N,NA,ND, J1,J1A,J2A,J3A,P,PD which is €10 (VAT included) per day.

Exceptions in CDW, FDW, WUG :
Charges for any of the damages written below will be charged directly to the client, the most important are the following: Antenna, trays, damage to car lock, loss or damage to keys, windshield wipers, interior of the car, spare key and car jack, hubcap, lights, gas cap, damage to upholstery of a car, damages to the roof, damages caused by roof rack and any luggage on it, extreme dirtiness in the car, personal belongings in a rented car, damage due to negligence, fuel errors, damage to child seats and baby seats, lack of electricity because of forgotten turned on electrical devices, loss of car documents, loss of registration plate. The car rental company, in any case, is not obligated to replace a flat tyre or damages in music devices (radio, CD/mp3 player, etc.).
Towing costs are not covered by any insurance.
Autounion car rental will not refund any telephone, taxi or hotel costs.
Autounion car rental or the car rental company will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing willful damage, off road driving, driving without care and attention or damages caused by negligence and traffic violations.
The client will accept direct responsibility in respect of such claims.
Any unnoticed accident or damage to the vehicle may be interpreted as negligence. This may result in a charge to the client.
Theft Protection (TP) :
THEFT (TW): Covers the rented vehicle against total theft with a deductible amount: For car categories A,A1,A2,B,B1,BA,BB,C,CA,D,D1 €600, for F,H,H1,J,J1,E1,M,MD,K,KA €800 for M1,M1D,M1A €1100, for J2A €1200 for L €1500 and for N,NA,ND,J1A,J3A,P,PD €2000
Renter’s Obligation:
The vehicle should be used only by the renter or other additional drivers mentioned on the rental agreement. The vehicle is prohibited to be used, for infringement of provisions of the Cyprus Road Circulation Code, for purposes opposite to the Cyprus laws, for towing other vehicles, in order to transport heavy objects or baggage.
Cancellation policy
24 hours prior to arrival no cancellation fee is required, less than 24 hours a cancellation fee equal to the deposit given at the time of reservation/confirmation is required.
